About Family Care Advice
In 1992 I left the family business to work “with people” and walked straight into working for the NHS as a Community Day Care Coordinator. Since then supporting people, giving advice, working with vulnerable adults and managing projects delivering services to older people have given me the opportunity to work with people on a daily basis, helping them to live their best life, with the support and care they need.
It is this drive and passion to support people, coupled with an acute awareness of the stresses and strains that informal carers such as spouses, family and friends experience, which inspired me to form Family Care Advice. I’m delighted with the opportunity to offer compassionate practical support, information and guidance to explore care solutions and to be able to help families, in what can be emotional and stressful times.
I am qualified in Health & Social Care and Advanced Information & Advice and have additional qualifications which include Dementia Awareness, Working with People with a Learning Disability, Energy Debt Advice, Mental Health First Aid, Counselling Skills and Adult Teaching.
Beyond the qualifications I have years of experience, a sound knowledge of issues affecting vulnerable adults and their carers, the Adult Social Care system, empathy and a determination to work on behalf of my clients to obtain the best care solution for them.
Family Care Advice is building a team of experienced Advisers, all qualified in Health & Social Care and Information & Advice to offer dedicated and compassionate support to adults and their families. Although based in Leicestershire & Rutland, we are able to offer the service nationally through telephone and video consultations and in person when we have an Adviser in your area.
I am a people person, my desire to work with people has not altered since I left the business world and I very much hope Family Care Advice will grow and continue to support and guide people for many years to come.
